Fern Pendant - Hand Pierced Sterling Silver Leaf Textured, with Swirls

This is a one of a kind hand made fern pendant.

I made the fern design by drawing over one side of a scan of a real fern, and mirroring it to make the other side. I put the two sides together with one slightly shifted upwards, so it looks a little more natural. I cut the design by hand using a jewellers saw.

Creating this took 10 hours, and I enjoyed every minute of it!
The fern is textured using real dried leaves that I hammered down onto the silver to transfer the leaf vein pattern. I have also hand engraved a lot of veins on it. The edges are all filed and polished.

This is an artwork that needs to be treated carefully. It can handle normal wear just fine, but be careful to not put it into a purse with other items when you take it off, the leaves can break if bent back and forth a lot.
It's not very sharp, but it's a little pointy.

This was first created as a piece of body jewellery with chains going around the neck and waist, with a labradorite on the back. I've since changed it to just a pendant, so it's more practical to use, and you can choose what length chain to wear it with.
